Norcraft Companies began in 1966 as a single millwork manufacturer in Marshall, Minnesota.

Over the years, the steady growth of Norcraft was fueled by the Mid Continent Cabinetry brand, offering a line of stock framed cabinetry to dealers, distributors and builders across the United States.

In 2000 Norcraft Companies began further expanding its product portfolio and strengthened its market share through strategic acquisitions.

UltraCraft was the first company to be added to the portfolio in 2000. Established in 1986 and located in Liberty North Carolina, UltraCraft diversified the product offering with the addition of frameless cabinetry across all categories and price points.

Early in 2002, StarMark Inc., located in Sioux Falls South Dakota, was acquired, further enhancing the product offering with two recognizable and strongly established brands of higher end semi-custom framed products: StarMark and Fieldstone.
